Christmas Morning

I was so excited for Christmas this year. I couldn't wait to enjoy it with the kids. They didn't really understand what was going on and all of the present overwhelmed them. It was still fun though. Both sets of grandparents were here so it was a very festive time. Here are some pictures from Christmas Morning.

After we opened up all of the gifts, it was a pretty relaxing day. I was cooking again but it was only for the parents and us. We had so many leftovers from the night before we decided to use up a lot of those. I cooked a prime rib and we had leftovers with it and it was great. It allowed me to sit around in my PJ's for quite some time. Gone are the days that I could lounge all day and wait for MY mom to cook dinner and put out snacks. It's my turn now. That's OK, I enjoy cooking when I have the time.

The rest of the time with my parents went by too quickly. We were up at 4am to take them to the airport on the 28th and then Steve and I and the kids were on our way down to San Diego for the week. It was very relaxing down there. I think the first few nights Steve and I were asleep shortly after the kids went down at 8pm. We were exhausted but it was great to get away. While we were there, I booked plans for NEXT Christmas time already. There is this very cute Bavarian town about 2.5 hours out of Seattle. We are going to stay in a hotel and go on a sleigh ride with the kids in the snow! I'm already super excited. I am such a nut! Maybe we'll even show these Californian kids how to sled.

As for New Year's Eve, we were total loooosers! We were asleep by 10:30pm. Loooosers! It was nice though not to go anywhere but to just hang out, watch a movie and relax. I always feel like I"m running around these days. Some days I even feel like it's in circles!

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season.
